Ten Years Of Rogate Pumpkin Patch: Our Review

Published on 1 November 2024 at 21:46

This Halloween we paid our annual visit to the fabulous Rogate Pumpkin Patch! We have been regular visitors for the last 5 years and has become one of our favourite family traditions!  Every year Slade Farm transforms its field's into a world of magically themed spooky playhouses and attractions and of course thousands of pumpkins ready for picking! This year for the first time we decided to visit on the day of Halloween. This was always going to be busy on this day and we expected it but it was so well organised it didn’t hinder the experience. If anything the atmosphere was brilliant! We felt like we were being welcomed into on big party of all things spooky!

When we entered the patch we were ushered in by the pumpkin fairy who was wonderful and happily posed with photos with all the children.

They also had a dance display going on from a very talented troupe of young ladies dressed as M3gan from the horror movie! This was something new for this year and was fantastic!

They later walked round the patch posing for photos with people which lots of people did! Unfortunately I couldn’t convince Mason to do this, he enjoy watching them do their dancing but he did want to get that close! Something else new for this year was a photo ops set up for babies in a tented area by the entrance. This was  a really cute addition to their normal offering and seemed very popular.

After our encounter with the M3gan’s we made our way through the spooky village of playhouse and displays. What we love about this area is the attention to detail. Even inside the building it’s fully themed from pictures on the walls to jars of pixies ears! You can tell hours of work had gone into these and this really is a labour of love for the creator. It’s part of what makes Rogate pumpkin patch so magical and truly unique.

Next stop was our family favourite the bubble witch! Also known as Enchanted Bubbles the rest of the year she is a returning feature to the event and much loved! We had lots of fun creating bubble magic and what even better is this activity is included in the cost of your entrance ticket.

Further down the patch in the next field there are lots of other fairground style attractions to chose from at an extra cost. Such as giant inflatable slide, Pumpkin bounce house, tractor pulled barrel rides and much more! When it comes to food there is so much choice! From burger to crepes and even

vegan food so there really is something for everyone! We enjoyed a steak burger which was around £5 which for what we got we felt was reasonable.

The final activity of our afternoon was to pick our pumpkins! The field was filled with so many to choose from and in addition to this as you exit there over 20 varieties of pumkins & squashes to choose from for purchase!

Our Verdict

Every year you think they can’t top the previous year offering and every year they do! This year being the 10 year celebration was no exception. It was amazing and this is why people keep going back year after year. The staff are warm and friendly, which I think only adds to the experience. It is a family run business and I think that’s what makes it so special. We will be back next year and can’t wait to see what they come up with for Halloween 2025.
