Legoland Windsor : Our £139 Splash & Stay

We love a splash & stay at theme park hotels! Mainly because it gives us our mini theme park fix during closed season but also because you can pick them up at such a great price! We recently picked one up for Masons birthday weekend at Legoland Hotel in Windsor for just £139 which is a fraction of what you pay when the park is open. So what did we get for that money?

Well we booked an Adventure room which on arrival the concierge kindly upgraded us to a Ninjago Room! To say Mason was over the Moon is an understatement so that was an amazing start.

The Ninjago room is fully themed (I actually slept under a samurai sword made of Lego) and the separate sleeping area was a huge hit with Mason! Each room has a little safe and clues to crack the code to receive a Little Lego gift. It’s different every time we have stayed but on this occasion we received a Lego towel, lanyard, Lego Life magazine, pop badge and a little poly bag lego set!

We booked ahead of time to go swimming so after we’d settled in  we headed down to the pool which is lots of fun. While I was there I booked the pool for the next morning too which I recommend doing as can get busy at times! There is no limit to how many times you use the pool which is nice and very handy if you have a water baby like us! We decided on eating dinner in the hotel so we headed down to Bricks restaurant which when we went was £27.99 a head for a 3 course meal. In all honesty for the food on offer it is a little pricey. Very basic and limited choice - pre covid it was a buffet with lots of choice, which in my opinion was much better! We have gone out in the past or even ordered domino’s pizza but as it was Mason’s birthday we let him choose.

After dinner we enjoyed a few drinking in the skyline bar while Mason enjoyed the children’s entertainment! The little disco with party dances was fun and the staff doing it were lovely so thats always a win for us!

After a Legotastic nights sleep we headed down to bricks again for breakfast! Breakfast is included in the price and again is table service for most of it. Although they have started to offer a small part buffet for continental items. Pre covid is was all completely buffet style (which again was much better).

After breakfast Mase & Steve headed to the pool for round two which we followed with our first ever visit to the new Legoland playroom!

The Legoland Playroom is for all ages, there are a variety of activities for younger children with Duplo through to older children with interactive Lego play tables. Mason’s dream job when he grows up is to be a Miniland model maker so what he loved the most is there is permanent Lego structures that you can build onto. We spent an hour in there but we could have stayed longer!

Now as we were in a premium room we got access to this free, had we not been though it’s is also free to Merlin pass holders. If you are not a pass holder and are staying in a standard room there is an extra cost of £10 per child.

We ended our stay with a trip to the brand new Legoland Golf. This was something a bit different and so much fun! It’s actually the world’s first Lego themed indoor golf experience – with 4 different LEGO themed course to master. It’s was very busy when we went and as a result we didn’t get to chose our course we had to take what was allocated. Lucky for us we got Lego City which is the one we wanted anyway!

We paid £8 each which I think was a good price. I booked ahead of time and it’s a bit cheaper because of our Merlin pass. There on the day price for non pass holders is £12 so if you can book ahead!

We spent a full 24 hours at Legoland hotel without the park being open and we had an amazing time! For £139 you can’t go wrong! If anything it’s nice to spend time there because when the park is open you’re never in the hotel that much! Keep a looking on third party hotel booking sites too as well as through the Legoland site. Don’t forget if you can also pay for a hotel stay using Tesco club card vouchers. See our Blog on how to do this here!
