Jack & The Beanstalk: Fe Fi Fo Fun In Dunstable!

Published on 26 December 2023 at 15:36

We love a good Pantomime and catch at least one every year. This year we headed to Dunstable for Jack & The Beanstalk at The Grove Theatre!
It was our first visit to The Grove and our first Evolution Productions Panto! We had been told to expect it to be an amazing show  and it didn’t disappoint. From the start We were blown away by the fabulous set design, fantastic singing, non-stop banter and slapstick jokes which kept all of us, young and old entertained! The set and costumes designed by Helga Wood were so visually dazzling you couldn’t take your eyes off the stage!

Eastenders Steve McFadden took the headline spot as the shows pantomime Baddie ‘Fleshcreep’ with plenty of nods to his on screen character he is well known for! As a fan of Eastenders he was a draw for me but by the end of the show I was dazzled by the rest of the cast too!

Union J’s Jaymi Hensley played the hapless hero Jack with his side kick Billy played by the brilliant Oliver Scott! George Horton as Jess and Colin the dog who made a hilarious Cameo! Nikita Johal brought the magic as Fairy Sugarsnap and although fabulous in her own right watching her & Mcfadden’s Fleshcreep play off each other was a match made in Panto!

Of course every Panto needs a Dame and who doesn’t love a Dame!! Will Kenning‘s Dame Trot is probably the best Dame we’ve ever seen! From his fabulous outfits which were so outrageous to his witty comic timing. Kenning was one of the standouts of the show for us and the scene where he gets locked in Fleshcreep’s weather machine had the whole audience crying with laughter!

We absolutely loved are first Dunstable Panto and will be back next year! A talented supporting cast, Dancers, zombies, Water guns, and even an Artichoke wand! This Panto really has it all!

If you haven’t seen it yet there is still time to get tickets HERE until 31st December. Tickets are also on sale already for next years offering Beauty & The Beast with fabulous Will Kenning announced so far as returning!
