To say Mason isn't a fan of Maths is an understatement! He does well in the rest of his subjects at school but when it comes to Maths he lacks confidence and as result as developed a huhe dislike for it! As a parent, all I want is for him to reach his full potential in life and finding the right educational tools that genuinely engage children can be a challenge.
Mason's school provide home access to times tables apps but it just isn't right for him. Trying to encourage him to log in creates huge anxiety, tears and tantrums....and that's just me!!
So when Fable’s World offered us the oppertunity to try their site, I absolutely jumped at the chance.
What is Fable World?
Fables world is a fun and interactive site offers a refreshing twist on maths learning for children aged 4 to 14. At its core, Fable’s World is a platform designed to make the subject fun, accessible, and rewarding. Through a series of quests, kids can tackle various mathematical challenges that span basic counting to more complex concepts. The best part? They don’t just learn—they earn prizes along the way!!

They actually reward children with real prizes for completing tasks such as Teddy bears and cash! The money initially attracted Mason and encouraged him to agree to give it a go but now I know he does it because he secretly enjoys it! Yes really!! The Maths avoider enjoys doing Maths homework!! I really have seen his confidence grow and most days when I’ve asked him to log in, he informs me he had already done it! One of the best things though is catching him smiling and laughing while doing his tasks. They use characters and silly nonsense to teach which Mason really enjoys! They use a poo & toilet character to help learn to tell the time which he finds absolutely hilarious!

Final Thoughts
After three weeks of using the site daily, Mason has just finished his first quest and received his first prize! He was given a choice and he opted for £15 & a limited addition Fables World plush toy!
More importantly for me, he now has the 24 hour clock down and we have seen an improvement in his times table work! We didn't expect to see results that quickly and can't wait to see how he progresses over time.
If you’re a parent looking for a fun, interactive way to help your child get better at maths, Fable’s World is well worth a try. TT Rocks Stars is great but it just doesn't work for Mason and this does. It creates an educational experience that doesn’t feel like a task. Instead, it feels like a game—and that’s a win for everyone involved.
